Tour of Japan has been the country’s largest cycle road race event succeeded to “International Cycle Road Race” which was held 14 times between 1982 to 1995. In 1996, the race has changed its name and was held as “Tour of Japan” taking advantage of the opportunity when UCI has officially approved it as stage race event.
